23rd Jan 2011 - Slowly Moving Penguins and Bluegrass
About 12 miles or 20kms today, simply going from curio bay to Niagara Falls Bluegrass Festival. A lazy morning - can't see any churches around here (there a very little used one at Waikawa - which we visited on the way to the bluegrass). Then off to the bluegrass via the Blue Cod Blues chip van. Super food again. Then to Niagara where we listened to a mixture of bluegrass, country and folk for about two and a half hours, which flew past with the addition of Invercargill Brewery's beer tent, veggie food and cheapish wifi (so the blog has been updated for the first time in ages). Then a quick visit to Niagara Falls (joke - very small waterfall) and then home for a walk around the headland and another look at Yellow Eyed Penguins heading for home, slowly, up the beach. And the photo to the left is as good a shot as I could get - on my phone (the camera went funny in the endless rain and mist of Milford Sound)
